Post-harvesting:   These roots, which for years absorbed power of Icelandic nature, were handpicked in September 2024 on the mountainside of the wildest places in Westfjord of Iceland. Roots were hand-washed in the icy water of a mountain river, hand-sliced with a knife, dried in well-ventilated areas (sheltered from direct sunlight), hermetically packed and then stored at temperatures of 15-18°C until shipping. No additional processing! Storage conditions:   Store at room temperature without odors and relative humidity of 60-70%. Shelf life 2-3 years in a dry dark place. Useful properties:   Rhodiola Rosea Root (Golden Root) which the following chemical composition: organic acids (oxalic, citric, malic and succinic) and the useful minerals of different groups (copper, manganese, silver and zinc). Useful properties: Arctic Thyme flowered stem contains essentially flavonoids (derived of apigenol and luteolol), acids phenols (in particular, cafeic and rosmarinic), tannins, resin and especially essential oil rich in chemical compounds which are responsible for the majority of its pharmacological effects. Essential oil of Arctic Thyme contains 40–50% Thymol and a range of additional compounds, such as γ-Terpinene (30.9%), p-Сymene (8.4%), Myrcene (2.4%), Carvacrol (2.4%), 2,4-Dymethyl-2,4-heptadiene (1.5%), para-Menthene-1 (1.8%), α-Terpinene (1.8%), α-Pinene (0.8%), β-Caryophyllene (0.8%), Limonene (0.8%), Borneol (0.5%), Mentha-3,8-diene (0.4%), 1,3-Octadiene (0.3%), Camphene (0.3%), α-Phellandrene (0.3%), α-Terpinolene (0.2%), trans-Dihydrocarvone (0.2%), etc. The Thyme essential oil tested possesses strong antimicrobial properties, and may in the future represent a new source of natural antiseptics. Tea: Add 2 springs of dryed thyme in a mug and pour 200 ml hot water over, allow to steep for 15 min. Remove thyme springs or strain. Sweeten with raw honey and/or fresh lemon. To use as a regular tea-drink, mainly before lunch. Water: Fill jug or pitcher with 1 l cold filtered or spring water and add 2 whole bunches dryed thyme springs. Allow to insist for overnight. In the morning remove/strain thyme sprigs and add lemon or raw honey or any optional ingredients you like (berries, cucumber slices, mint etc). Sip water throughout the day for the ultimate hydration and healing benefits. Salt: Remove stems from Thyme herb, leaving only leaves and flowers. Measure out sea salt – the ratio of salt to dried Thyme is largely a matter of taste. Start with one tablespoon of chop Thyme to ¼ cup of salt. Keep adding Thyme a tablespoon at a time until you get the flavor profile you’re after. Mix salt and Thyme by hand with a mortar and estle. Aim for breaking up the added herb into grain sized pieces without turning the batch into dust.
